The President shall not hold any office of profit in the service of Pakistan or occupy any other position carrying the right to remuneration for the rendering of services.

1. The President shall not be a candidate for election as a member of ^[1] or a Provincial Assembly; and, if a member of or a Provincial Assembly is elec^[1] ted as President, his seat in or, as the case may be, the Provincial Assembly shall become vac^[1] ant on the day he enters upon his office. ^{[1] [2]}
